Imogene White, age 82, of Lumberton, Texas, passed away Thursday May 17, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 26, 1935 in Silsbee, Texas to Stanley C. Gore and Lurline I. Strother. Imogene was a licensed vocational nurse for many years at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. In her earlier years, she was a member of the Silsbee Women's Club. She was active in square dancing and playing bridge with her friends. She loved to travel with her husband in their RV and enjoyed camping. In her later years, she enjoyed gardening and raising backyard chickens. Family was her priority. Granny, as she was known, loved to spend time with her grandson and great grandson. She was excited and looking forward to sharing her love with the birth of her great granddaughter. They were her pride and joy.

Imogene was a faithful servant and longtime member of First Baptist Church of Lumberton. You could hear her traditional gospel music being played at her home every evening before bedtime, especially on Saturday nights. She will be missed by all who love her but her legacy will continue.

Preceding Imogene in death are her parents, Stanley C. Gore and Lurline I. Strothers. Left to honor Imogene's memory is her loving husband of 48 years, Archie Samuel White of Lumberton, TX; daughter Pansy G. Wright of Lumberton, TX; stepson, John and Kirby White of Houston, TX; stepdaughter, Sharon White of Houston, TX; sister, Hulda Bertrand of Beaumont, TX, Peggy McDaniel and husband Bo of Willis, TX, Dixie Zeller and husband Chuck of Silsbee, TX; brothers, Jack Gore and wife Elaine of Silsbee and Gilbert Gore of Silsbee, TX; grandson, W.T. Wright and wife, Didi Crawford Wright, of Spring, TX; great grandson Will and her soon to arrive great granddaughter, Aubrey.
