Floyd Best, age 80 of Maryville, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022 at his home.
Floyd was a member of Broadway Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Floyd sang with the Kinsmen Quartet, was a member of American Concrete Institute and retired from S & ME (formerly TVA Singleton Laboratories).
Preceded in death by son, Scott Best; parents, Nathan and Marie Best.
Survived by wife of 60 years, Wilma Goodson Best; daughter and son-in-law, Tracie and Danny Gordon; grandchildren, Lindsey, Cameron, Christine, Michelle; great-grandchildren, Auron; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Frances Best; brothers-in-law, Norman Goodson, Luther Goodson Jr.; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Smith West Chapel. The Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Tony Collins officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 9:00 AM for Interment on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Grandview Cemetery.
