WILSON -- Services for Katie Ophelia Sanders, 85, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the River of Life Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will be at Hewitt Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sanders was born Feb. 17, 1915, in Waurika, to George B. and Cora P. Pearcell Roberts. She died Sept. 25, 2000, at her residence.
Reared in Cheek, she married Dee William Sanders June 6, 1931, in Wilson where she lived the remainder of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband March 16, 1947; two sons, Billy, Oct. 9, 1940; and Royce, Sept. 8, 2000; two sisters, Amy and Lois; and three brothers, Hoyt, Henry and Carrol.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Tilley, Sapulpa, and Louise Young, Wilson; six sons, Wayne, Cisco, Texas, Merle, Weatherford, Texas, Bobby, Fort Worth, Texas, Clinton, Ardmore, Hughes, Wilson, and Charles, Healdton; a sister, Ileen Gann, Ardmore; a brother, M.D. Roberts, Pauls Valley; 25 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be grandsons, Royce W., Billy, Gary, Tim, John and Robbie Sanders.
