Beloved wife and mother, Mrs. Barbara A. (Benjamin) Shank, 79, of Mont Alto, PA, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 19, 2022 in her home surrounded by family.
Born January 11, 1943 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late William Benjamin, Jr. and Reberdia (Cool) Benjamin.
Mrs. Shank was a graduate of Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1960.
She and her husband of 61 years, Mr. Barry T. Shank, were married May 26, 1961.
Mrs. Shank was a homemaker who had been employed by Washington Township Sewer Authority and Quincy Township Sewer Authority for many years.
A Bible believer, Barb especially loved to read and watch westerns.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Tammy Kint (Jim) of Crystal Springs, PA, Billy Shank (Stacy) of Mont Alto, Nancy Grisson (Gary Witter) of St. Thomas, PA and Amy Lingenfelter (Nathan) of Mont Alto; nine grandchildren, Eric, Kayla, Kira, Andrew, Rachel, Jimmy, Jeffery, Michael and Jackie; 10 great-grandchildren, Jacksen, Ariana, Parker, Gabriel, Charlee, Alaina, Charlotte, Jeffery, Jr., Anthony and Jeremy; one sister, Donna K. Speer (Gary) of Waynesboro; one brother, Jeff Benjamin (Pat); and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy L. Benjamin.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 24, 2022 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
