John Schenk and Violet Kaufman were married on December 18, 1912, in Baden, Ontario. After Violet's death in 1951, John married Clara Koerber, the widow of William Zimmer.Obituary
At the K-W Hospital, on Christmas Day, after a lengthy illness, John Schenk, of 247 Franklin St. N., age 88 years, born in Wilmot Centre, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Casper Schenk, a lifelong resident of the Twin City area, formerly employed as a carpenter and formerly farmed near Maryhill for many years. Mr. Schenk was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bridgeport. Husband of Clara Koerber; father of Alfred, Waterloo; Elwood and Kenneth, both of Kitchener and Ruth (Mrs. Arthur Gollinger) of Burlington; brother of Susan (Mrs. Ivan Heuckroth) of Kitchener; predeceased by his first wife Violet Kaufman in 1951; three grandchildren also survive. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 3 p.m. Thursday until noon on Saturday, when removal will be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bridgeport for the service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Ralph W. Huras officiating. Internment St. Matthew's Lutheran cemetery, Conestogo. Donations to the memorial fund of St. Paul's Lutheran Church may be made as expressions of sympathy.
