Larry Dale Roberts, 84, of Moberly, MO went home to the Lord on June 18, 2022 at University Hospital, Columbia, MO.

Dale was born on May 21, 1938 in Moberly, MO to William E. and Anna J. (Wheeler) Roberts. On October 12, 1958 married Joyce Lee Kinkade in Bernie, MO.

He graduated from Moberly Junior College (high school) in 1956 and earned his bachelor's degree from Riverside Baptist College in Riverside, CA. Dale then went on to earn his master's degree at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary of Louisville, KY. Shortly thereafter, he and Joy moved to Pasadena, CA where he obtained a PhD from California Theological Seminary of Los Angeles, CA.

Honorably serving his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1962 as SP-E5, Dale served in Korea and during the Berlin Crisis. Throughout his life, Dale served as a pastor to many congregations, most recently at Laddonia Christian Church. He enjoyed his children and fostering many children with his beloved wife, Joy.

Family and friends will always remember Dale as a fun-loving prankster who loved people.

Preceding him in death was his son Larry; his parents, Bill and Juanita Roberts; his sisters, Judith Sparrow and Billie Ann Wiseman Skinner; and his brother Ronald Roberts.

Dale is survived by his wife, Joy, and son Jacob of Moberly; daughter-in-law, Eleanor Roberts of Blackwater; brother Paul (Jean) Roberts of Renick; sister-in-law, Seiko Roberts of Kansas City; and numerous nieces, nephews, and foster children from Missouri to California.

If desired, donations in his memory may be sent to Fostering Brighter Futures, c/o Carla Whittaker, 1515 County Road 1450, Moberly MO 65270.

There will be two separate memorial services to celebrate Larry's life. The first service is scheduled for Sunday, June 26, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Laddonia Christian Church in Laddonia, MO. The second service will be held at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
