Edward was born December 2, 1933 in Pleasant Mound, IL, the son of Forrest Edward and Lois Marie (Siebert) Taylor. He married Donna Belle Clymer, daughter of Eugene and Opal Clymer, on June 19, 1954. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Vandalia, IL where he served in many capacities.
Mr. Taylor was president of the Vandalia Community School District school board in the 1970s and was a long time member and president of the Vandalia Lions Club, the IL Ready-Mix Concrete association, and the Midwest Ready-Mix Concrete Association.
He owned and operated Edward Taylor Construction Company and Taylor Ready-Mix Inc, Vandalia, Greenville, St. Elmo, Altamont, and Ramsey, IL from the 1950s - 1999. He also owned and operated the Days Inn, Vandalia, IL from 1995 - 2019.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, brothers Daniel and Leroy Taylor, sister Janice (Taylor) Barnes, and brother-in-law William Clymer.
Burial will follow at McInturff Cemetery, Hagerstown, IL.
