Jack D. Buckner, age 81, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at his home. He was born December 5, 1926 in Cincinnati, OH, a son of the late Asa "Jack" Buckner and Alta Mildred Hiser Buckner Mullins.

On November 18, 1967 he married Marie Walls who survives. Also surviving are one son, Ben Buckner of Irvine, CA; one daughter, Teresa Cutright and husband Alvin of French Creek, WV; two grandsons, Ethan and Owen Cutright both of French Creek; one granddaughter, Julia Cutright of French Creek; two step sisters, Rose Livesay of Englewood, OH and Lou Mullins of Mt. Vernon, KY; hunting and fishing buddy, Bob Retterbush of Piqua, OH, who kept him out of trouble and several close cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by stepfather, Jim Mullins.

Mr. Buckner was a Postal Supervisor for US Postal Service and served in the US Navy during WW II & Korean Conflict. He loved, horse racing, poker, fishing, tennis and was an artist.

Friends will be received Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua, OH.
