Nancy C. Mason age 85 of Ferrum peacefully entered into the gates of Heaven to join her beloved husband on Sunday, June 12, 2022.
She was born on January 30, 1937, the daughter of the late Oscar Chitwood and Ora Hickman Chitwood LaPrade.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Wilson Mason; a son, Kenny Cook; brothers, Forrest Chitwood and Marshall Chitwood; and a sister, Betty Nester.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Jay Mason (Tina), Bill Cook (Tammy), Price Cook, Jo Ann Sawyer (Kenny), and Sue Jones (Mark); grandchildren, Logan Mason, Hannah Mason, Tab Eitner, Brad Cook, Erica Elkins, Heather Powell, and Kris Black; eight great-grandchildren; her loving sister, Brenda Meeks; other family members, and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Eugene Chitwood and Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Nancy's family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made in her name to Providence Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2861 Providence Church Road, Henry, VA 24102, or Carilion Hospice of Franklin County, 390 South Main Street, Suite 314, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
