James Randall Thompson, age 79, of Clarkson, Ky, passed away Sunday, (June 12, 2022) at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY.

He was born on November 05, 1942 in Hart County, KY, the son of the late Elzie and Opal Jaggers Thompson.

He was a line worker at Gates Rubber who enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening, making birdhouses, canes, and knives, and mowing his yard. He was a member of Potters Hope, and was saved at 10 years old at Little Flock.

He is survived by three sons, Terry Thompson (Robin Dupin) of Summit, Tracy Thompson (Tina) of Leitchfield and Trenton Thompson of Clarkson; two daughters, Tina Marie Bruner of Clarkson and Tammy Vanmeter (Chip) of Leitchfield; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Scott Thompson, a grandson, James "JT" Rigdon, and 12 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, (June 18, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Wayne Clemons will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
