Kathryn was born Sept. 29, 1933, and was a native of Fort Worth. She was a graduate of Diamond Hill High School. Kathryn attended North Texas State University, where she studied art and later devoted over 20 years to teaching in the Fort Worth ISD. She was an active member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, where she founded the St. Luke Flower Guild ministry.
Survivors: Beloved husband of 54 years, Tom Atherton; daughter, Julia Atherton of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law, Jack Atherton and Melinda; grandchildren, Court and Shana Atherton, all of Dunlap, Ill.; numerous other family members; and countless friends.
