Shreveport - Born February 21, 1956 lifelong resident of Shreveport/Bossier, he passed away 6/8/2022, at 66. He worked at Libbey Glass 17 years in the hot end; there they called him "Lucky".
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, John & Nell Smith, sister, Clair Sumerall, and brother, Charles Smith of Slidell.
He is survived by Lola Thigpen Smith, his wife & brothers, Leo Smith, Ernie Smith & wife Jean, David L Smith & wife Honey, & two sons, Joe Dale Smith, Jr. & Robert M. Smith.
His church affiliation was with Parkview Baptist Church. He was the very last member there. Proud of his Native American heritage, his roll number with the Cherokee Nation. He also was an avid bass fisherman and carpenter. He wanted to have people, to always remember John 3:16.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date for family at Centuries Memorial Park.
