Bessie Rogers (Scott) Bohnenstiel was born on April 19, 1927 in Saundersville, Sumner County, Tennessee, the daughter of Albert Campbell "A C" Scott (1890–1973) and Bessie (Rogers) Scott (ca 1894–1992).

She was married on May 2, 1958 in Wilson County, Tennessee as the 2nd wife of Robert Lee Bohnenstiel Sr (1923–2009), the son of Erwin Jacob Bohnenstiel (1889– ) and Dorsie (Whitmer) Bohnenstiel (1892–1960). {Staff Sergeant of the US Army Air Forces Robert L Bohnenstiel was a tail gunner on a B-17 bomber during World War II and went missing on June 21, 1944 over Germany, ending up as a prisoner of war.}

In Davidson County, Tennessee, Bessie was 68 years old and married when she passed away on August 31, 1995.

Survivors included her husband Robert L Bohnenstiel, stepson Robert L Bohnenstiel Jr, sister Mary Ball and brother Albert C Scott in Atlanta, Georgia.

Graveside Services were held on September 2nd in Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville.
