"Mrs. James Patton Dies; Presbyterian Leader's Wife

Mrs. James G. Patton, 68, wife of a leading official in the Presbyterian Church of the United States, died Sunday at her home at 1360 Greenland Drive, NE.

Dr. Merle G. Patterson and Dr. Charles C. Cowsert will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Druid Hills Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Westview.

Her husband Dr. Patton, is executive secretary of the General Council of the Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Patton was born in Rutledge, Tenn. She was president of the Lucian Lamar Knight Bible Class at the Druid Hills Church. She was the former Katherine Jones.

Other survivors include three sons, James G. Patton Jr., Smyrna; Sam J. Patton, Decatur, and Claude H. Patton, Lexington, Va.; a daughter, Mrs. W. B. Carsow, Austin, Tex., and four sisters, Mrs. W. F. Long Knoxville, Tenn.; Mrs. Charles Holtsinger, Morristown, Tenn.; Mrs. W. P. McGuire, Kingsport, Tenn., and Mrs. Harwell F. Smith Montgomery, Ala. Her brother, the late Robert Taylor Jones, was a former governor of Arizona."
