He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Sass and a nephew, Patrick G. McDonald.
David is survived by his mother, Beverly Sass; siblings, Linda (Russell) Mehlenbacher, Karen (Don) Brookshire, Diane (Greg) McDonald, Ellen (Michael) Schaefer, Jeffrey Sass, Thomas Sass, Julie (Tim) Oberg, Carolyn (Jeff) Wiechowski, and Jennifer Sass. He also had fifteen nieces and nephews, and two great-nieces Kaylee and Tessa and great-nephew Wyatt.
A Celebration of David's life will be held in Macomb Township on Saturday September 18th at St. Isidore Church, 18201 23 Mile Road, In State from 9:30 until the service at 10 AM with Father Ron Victor officiating. Military Honors will take place after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of David.
