Leon "Lee" O. Brooks, Musician, Composer, Arranger, and Conductor, died May 27, 2022. He was born on July 20, 1938 to Helen Shaw Brooks and Leon Brooks, Sr. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Gloria and Bobby.

After serving in The Army Band, 1956-1962, he received his BA, MA, and PhD degrees from University of Michigan and Michigan State University. He was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to The Vienna Academy, and taught at Kent State University, College of Wooster and University of Akron. He was the owner of Concert Masters Recording Company. He moved back to Norfolk late in life to marry his high school sweetheart. There he was commissioned by the Tidewater Winds Band to compose a march, "The Winds of the Chesapeake".

A graveside ceremony will be held Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. Condolences to the family may be offered at www.hollomon-brown.com.
