Funeral services for R.C."Son" Allen, 93, of Mount Pleasant formerly of Kilgore will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2007 at Bates- Cooper-Sloan Chapel, 2805 South Jefferson, Mount Pleasant, with Bro. Buddy Duggins officiating. Burial will follow at Gladewater Cemetery in Mount Pleasant under the direction of Bates- Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home. Mr. Allen passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007 in Mount Pleasant.
He was born Feb. 1, 1914 to Robert C. Allen and Mary (Sellers) Allen. He was a member of Forest Home Baptist Church of Kilgore and retired from American Petrofina as a Pumper Supervisor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lillian Allen; son, Danny Allen; five sisters, Leona Hollins, Mary Cogswell, Alma Smith, Junie Page, Daught Collens.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Royce and Barbara Allen of Corpus Chrusti; daughter, Nell Anerson of Sulpher Springts; seven grandchildren; 22 greatgrandchildren; numerous great great-grandchildren, one sister, Marie Ledford of Penola, CA.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m.
