Ruby Pauline Walker
(A poem about a lovely woman from a grandchild's perspective)

Daughter, Sister, Friend, Wife,
Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother,
She lived a GRAND life,
She was our everything,
Family,
Ruby Pauline Walker was all of these things,
She was my mother's mother,
The one who taught her to be strong,
She gave my Uncle Tim his kindness,
Aunt Tracy's willingness to help others,
Aunt Clarese's love for knowledge,
Uncle Dee's free spirit,
She took us grandkids on many adventures,
From scaring us by swerving (in a fun way) on the open backroads,
To send us outside at the farm to experience nature,
I remember her telling me one time not to kiss the toads,
That a prince I would not find,
As we grew older, so did she,
But just like wine,
She became even more divine,
She is free,
She is with us,
She is at peace,
She is pain-free,
I am sure as she looks down at us from above,
Watching,
Protecting,
Caring,
Loving
