The little village of Thornville, nestled back on the hills and in the valleys, just one mile from Thornport, in he extreme northwestern corner of Perry county, is all agog over the blood curdling murder of Marcus W. Hoy, aged 28 years, the Zanesville & Western railroad's agent and day operator at Thornport...

Hoy had been in the employ of the Zanesville & Western railroad for ten years. Seven years were spent at Glenford, three miles east of Thornville. The balance of the time was spent in the town where he died. He was known by almost every citizen and by just that many considered an honest, upright man. His sudden and awful death has cast a mingled gloom and horror over the quiet community, and the terrible deed will not be forgotten within the next generation.

Hoy was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Hoy, of Pickerton, near Columbus. His parents arrived at the stricken home yesterday. Besides owning a beautiful home in Thornville, Hoy's life was insured for $1,150.

The funeral will be held at 12 o'clock Wednesday in the Reform church in Thornville. Rev. J. E. Stone will officiate. The remains will be laid to rest in St Paul's cemetery, Glenford, near where Hoy spent several happy years of his early married life.
