Wilma Lee Allen, 91, was welcomed into the presence of the Lord on Sunday afternoon, May 15, 2022.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 1:00 P.M in the Chapel of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy. 277 S. Abilene. Interment will follow in McKenzie Cemetery in Mitchell County, TX.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at the funeral home.

Wilma was born January 19, 1931, in San Saba, Texas to the late Johnnie and Annie (Johnson) Tyler. She married Harold Oliver on January 20, 1951 in San Saba and settled in Abilene. She later married William "Bill" Allen on June 9, 1973 in Sweetwater, TX. She worked for Paymaster/ Acco Feeds for 20 years before moving to Sweetwater where she worked for a plumbing company for another 10 years.

She was ordained as a Deacon by the First Christian Church in Sweetwater, Texas on January 12, 1992, and received many certificates of recognition and appreciation. She moved back to Abilene in 2002 to be closer to her two daughters and volunteered at the Abilene State Supported Living Center and Hendrick Medical Center.

She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her friendly and nurturing personality. She loved getting to visit and meet new people.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Oliver; her second husband, William G. Allen; her parents; and her only sister, Mildred Barefoot.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Thompson and her husband Tommy and Deborah Oliver; step-daughter, Vickie Engele and her husband Ron; step-son, Glynn Allen and wife Peggy; four grandchildren, Dustin Moreau, Brittany Clayborn, Sheila Haggard, and Mike Engele; two step-grandchildren, Leann Dominguez and Billie Allen; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family request that memorials be given to the Volunteer Services at the Abilene State Supported Living Center in Abilene, TX.
