Mary E. "Molly" Murphy, 94, of Vienna, VA, passed away at home after a long illness on May 28, 2022. Molly was born in July, 1927 in Mt. Joy, PA, to Clyde and Sara Gerberich.

She graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1949 and joined the Central Intelligence Agency, where she travelled the world before meeting and marrying her husband of nearly 60 years, Joseph E. Murphy. They moved to Vienna in 1964 where they raised their two children. Molly was the secretary at OLGC school from 1979 until her retirement in 1990. She was a devoted volunteer at OLGC parish, an avid knitter, a wonderful cook and hostess, and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers, and her beloved husband, Joe. She is survived by her son; her daughter; her four cherished grandchildren and a large, loving family of nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, and caregivers, especially Sharon.

A visitation will be held from 5pm-7pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Murphy Funeral Homes, Falls Church, VA . A Mass of Christian Burial will occur at 11am on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Vienna, VA with burial at Fairfax Memorial Park.

Contributions in her memory may be made to Capital Caring Hospice and OLGC Church.
