Born in St. Louis, Mr. Forsen graduated from John Burroughs High School where he was captain of the soccer team and Westminster College where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He served his country as a medic in Korea from 1953 to 1955. Mr. Forsen was employed by Ralston Purina Co. and later Purina Mills for over 30 years, working in Wilmington, DE and Bloomington, IL before serving as plant manager in Richmond, VA. In 1971 he returned to St. Louis to work in the commodities department and retired in 1989 as a director of purchasing. Throughout his life, Mr. Forsen pursued many interests and hobbies. He had a great love for and knowledge of such varied subjects as archaeology, Native American culture, military history and gardening. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and wildlife. His favorite pastimes also included woodworking, Indian beadwork, reading and traveling. He especially loved animals and cherished his faithful dogs. Mr. Forsen was a member of the Masonic Order and attained the Level of 32nd Mason. The family is grateful for the care of Dr. Craig Hildreth and BJC Hospice.
