Imogene was born on August 6, 1932, in Enville to Velma Mae (Muncrief) and Oscar Henry Minyard. She attended Enville and Marietta Schools opting to forgo high school graduation for marriage, but she obtained her G.E.D. in 1987. Imogene married the father of her three children, RV Forguson on December 18, 1950. They had their three kids in California, but opted to raise them in Denison, TX. RV preceded her in death on February 14, 1980. Imogene remarried to Claudis Lee Hood on December 30, 1985 and they made their home in Whitewright, TX, before relocating back to Enville. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2008. Imogene resided in Enville until 22 months ago when she relocated to Fort Worth with her daughter Jeannie. She was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church.
Imogene had many hobbies she enjoyed doing such as embroidery, gardening, reading, and baking. Imogene was known to many as "The Pie Lady". Her favorite author is Louis L' Amour. Imogene cherished the times she spent with her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Imogene is preceded in death by her first husband, RV Forguson; second husband, Claudis Hood; parents, Oscar and Velma Minyard; son Henry Alvin Forguson; brothers, Leroy Minyard, Jim Minyard, and Oscar Minyard; sisters, Lila Hill, Fern Bryant, Susie Mae Wheeler, and Peggy Ann Vanderveer.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cecilia "Jeannie" Collier of Fort Worth; son, Randal Forguson and wife Jullie of Rice, TX; daughter-in-law, Mary Forguson; sister, Linda Carver and husband John of Resoca, GA; three grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews in the Minyard and Forguson Families.
Casket bearers are grandsons and nephews.
