Joy W. Haynes Mom, Grandmother Great-Grandmother, Friend. Joy Haynes, 84, passed away peacefully on Jan. 15, 2008, after three separate battles with cancer. Born June 8, 1923, to Art and Lucy Wilson, the youngest of nine children. She married Merl I. Haynes Sept. 15, 1946 in Las Vegas, NV. She was the world's greatest Chicago Cubs fan, and once attended their spring training in AZ. She loved crafts, cooking, and being around her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survived by her children; Katherine (Ralph) Blevins, who was like a second son to her, Roger Haynes, grandchildren; Anthony, Nichole, Kaimee, Jason, and Andy, and eight great-grandchildren, and her constant companion Dog, Charlie. Preceded in death by: her parents, eight siblings, her husband Merl I. Haynes, and daughter-in-law Lois Z. Haynes. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, 2 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. A Viewing will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m., at Redwood Memorial, and one hr prior to services.
