Robert "Bob" Eugene Rogers went to his final resting place on Thursday, May 26, 2022, surrounded by family and friends, after battling Alzheimers.

He was born December 22, 1940, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Kathleen (Goodknight) Rogers and Robert Rogers. He was the oldest of seven children: Patricia, Ronnie, Jerry, Donnie, Sandy, and Kenneth Steven. He was preceded in death by his brothers Jerry and Steven, his parents, and his beloved wife, Mona.

He married Judith Robson on October 5, 1963, and they were divorced in 1982. He married Mona Jean Cheatham on October 26, 1984. She preceded him in death on April 18, 2021.

Robert had two children, Lori (Rogers) Williams and Anthony (Susan) Rogers; four grandchildren, Cortney Morrison, Eric Morrison, Kevin Rogers, and Kelsey Rogers.

Robert sought out many different career paths, so it is hard to choose what to label as his career. He worked as a meat cutter for Kroger meat plant in Livonia, Michigan, and he worked for a few different cleaning services, doing fire restoration jobs, carpet cleaning, etc. His biggest love was gardening and family. He loved bringing things back to life and people back together. He was adored and adopted by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service has been planned for Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 1-4 pm at Mt. Carbon Christian Church, 523 Old Brick Road, Murphysboro, IL 62966. Pastor Frank Cano will be officiating. Visitors are invited to stay for fellowship after the service.
