Robert Charles Rogers died at age 52 on Saturday, January 29, 1972, at his rural Murphysboro home.
He was born in Jackson County on February 11, 1919, the son of William and Bertha Ahls Rogers.
He married Kathleen Goodknight on May 25, 1940, in Jackson, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Mitchell of Belleville and Sandra Kay, at home; five sons, Robert Jr. of Taylor, Michigan, Ronald of Murphysboro, and Jerry, Donald and Kenneth, at home; four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Engle of East St. Louis, Mrs. Louise Dodson of Berkeley, Missouri, and Mrs. Anna Jane Weathers of Ava; and one half-sister, Lucy Phelps of Ava.
Mr. Rogers was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
