Cory Jackson Miller, 47, of Hampton, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice in Mason City. He was born September 5, 1972, in Webster City, to Douglas Miller and Pamela Beehrle.
Cory graduated from Hampton-Dumont High School, the class of 1991. He owned and operated North Iowa Home Builders and most recently was employed at Miller Concrete in Hampton. Cory enjoyed fishing, hunting and trap shooting. Cory especially enjoyed and was very good at, entertaining family and friends at the Miller cabin on Kid Lake near Hackensack, Minnesota. Hackensack's claim to fame is that it is a world renowned drinking village with a fishing problem. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends and family.
Cory is survived by his mother Pam (Roy) Morris of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, father Doug (Cyndi) Miller of Hampton, brother Aaron Miller of Hampton, half-siblings Samantha (Jason) Brandt of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Zachary Morris of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, step-brothers Andy (Evie) Sutter of Manly, Mike (Kacey) Sutter of Adel, and Brian (Lynn Alcott) Sutter of Hampton, paternal grandmother Pat Miller of Clarion, nephew Dustin Miller of Hampton, along with several other nephews and nieces. He is also survived by special friend Brian (Michelle) Hill of Iowa Falls and their daughters Kylie, Alivia, Natalie and Courtney. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2020, at Church of the Living Word in Hampton. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2020, at Church of the Living Word. Burial will take place at a later date.
