She died after falling from a lirla hoop performance in Mexico City, Gunther wanted to go with his wife when she was sent to the hospital but Karl was concerned that he would miss the 7-person-pyramid. Gunther dismissed Karl and went to be at Margarita's side until her death. Later, Gunther would leaving the Wallenda Act after losing almost all of his teeth in a 7-person pyramid practice stunt not that long after Margarita's death.
