Born September 18, 1898, at Potsdam, N.Y., he was a son of Charles and Jenny (Lawrence) Bascom. He was united in marriage to Julia Fern Thompson on July 5, 1919. She preceded in death on July 19, 1976.
One daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Ruth) Memmi of Three Springs, R.D., survives along with seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
One brother and one sister preceded in death.
Mr. Bascom was of the Protestant faith. During his lifetime he had worked in a paper mill in New York.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, the Rev. Robert Basom officiating. Interment will be made in Three Springs Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 this evening, Monday, and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service on Tuesday.
