Neva Arlene Landon, age 89, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri. Graveside service for Neva will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, Missouri. Neva Arlene Jones was born February 24, 1933 to Thomas and Jewel Jones. She grew up in Clinton, Missouri and graduated from Clinton High School in 1950. Neva Arlene married Carl F. Landon on June 16, 1950 in Clinton, Missouri. They settled shortly after in the California Bay Area. Neva Arlene and Carl had four children, Steve, Tom, Carla and Mike; they also fostered two children, Brad and Robin. Neva Arlene and Carl lived in the Bay Area for 34 years and retired to Eudora, Missouri in 1985. Carl preceded Neva Arlene in death in 2010; she moved into Butterfield Residential Care Center in Bolivar in 2016 and made many friends. Neva Arlene has always enjoyed crafts, such as quilting, making hats, Christmas ornaments, and woodworking. She was a member of Eudora Baptist Church for many years and volunteered for 12 years working in the nursery. She never saw a baby that she didn't want to meet, hold and love. She also cooked for the "Keenagers Club", decorated the church for holidays and taught craft classes. In her later years, Neva Arlene started a "Hat Lady Club" at Butterfield, where she and many of the fellow residents would make festive hats to wear for parades for holidays and special occasions. Neva Arlene loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her son Steve Landon and his wife Terri, her daughter Carla Kendall and her husband Bob, grandson Tommy Landon and granddaughters Jessica Rose, Melissa Landon, Sarah Landon, Jennifer (Jason) Bishop, Katie (Landon) Quick, great-grandchildren Dalton and Jack Roseman, and Molly and Landon Bishop, brothers Donald Ray Jones and Darrell (Connie) Jones. Neva Arlene is preceded in death by her husband Carl F. Landon, her parents Thomas and Jewel Jones, her siblings Cork Baumgarden, Wilma Jean Williams, Dick Jones, Peggy Jones, and T.H. Jones, sons Tom Landon and Mike Landon, and her great-grandson Jameson Bishop. We will miss her beautiful smile and her infectious laugh, the stories she would tell about her past, the way she always wanted to take care of everyone by telling them exactly what to do and how to do it, and the way she answered the phone by saying "y-ello." Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.
