Tragically, Claude died just 6 months later from Typhoid Fever, and did not get to witness the birth of his only son, Claude Eli Vanover, born Feb. 21, 1923. His older brother, Mont, was the informant on his death certificate.
Claude was employed as a Coal Miner. In the south, middle names were often used as first names. According to his WW I Draft Registration Card, Claude had blue eyes and brown hair.
