Mrs. Duane was born in Carbondale, Illinois on October 20, 1941, to the late Joseph Glenn Upchurch and Dolly (Jones) Upchurch. Mrs. Duane was owner of the Nifty Needle, a homemaker and a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Bartow, Florida. She was a 1959 graduate of the Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, Illinois, and a 1963 graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, with a B.S.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Duane was preceded in death by one brother, Joe D. Upchurch.
Mrs. Duane is survived by her husband, James Q. Duane of Murray, Kentucky, whom she married on November 8, 1963, in Pirmasens Post, Germany; one son, Steve Duane and wife Shirley of Florence, Kentucky; one daughter, Cari J. Covey and husband Calvin of Jacksonville, Florida; five grandchildren, Alain Duane, Stephen Duane, Jeremy Covey, Carolyn Covey and Ken Covey; as well as five great-grandchildren
A graveside service will be held on Saturday May 21,2022 at 2pm at Webber cemetery in Galatia, Illinois.
