Laura's obituary read:
"Laura Louise Banks (nee Chisholm), was born on May 13, 1930, in Cincinnati OH, to the late Robert Williams and Helen Chisholm. She was the sixth of seven children. She made her transition to heaven on January 10, 2015.

Laura graduated from Our Lady of Mercy High School in 1948. After graduation, she worked at DePorres High School, Catholic Telegraph and Hoffman School. Laura then spent 25 years as the beloved Secretary of St Mark Elementary School, until her retirement in 1993.
After retirement, Laura volunteered as a receptionist at St. Mark Church and also as a teaching assistant at St. Francis DeSales Elementary School. In 2000, the City of Cincinnati City Manager appointed Laura and six others to serve on the Citizens Police Review Panel, established to review citizens' complaints against police, following the uprising after the shooting of an unarmed man.

Laura was joined in Holy Matrimony to Theodore Blackstone Banks on September 15, 1956. From that union, three children were born, Mark Lawrence, David Theodore and Maria Louise.
Laura was baptized in the Catholic faith at an early age and was a devoted Christian her entire life. She was an active member of St. Mark Catholic Church for over 50 years, serving on numerous ministries, boards and committees. She later joined the Church of the Resurrection in 2010.
Laura leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved and devoted husband Theodore, her sons, Mark and David, one granddaughter, Maria Denise George (Nathanial), one grandson, Jonathan Blackstone Banks, one sister in law, Jewel Chisholm, her dear friend Jeanette Murphy, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Helen, her daughter, Maria Louise Banks, her six siblings, Frances Coleman, Helen V. Barnes, George Chisholm, Elizabeth Johnson, Nelson Chisholm and Mary Juanita Davis.
The family wishes to thank those that have offered comforting messages, prayers and expressions of love and support.

A special thank you to St. Margaret Hall Nursing Home for their dedicated, loving care during Laura's stay.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Church Of The Resurrection , 1619 California Avenue, Cincinnati (45237) with visitation from 9:00 am until 10:00 a.m.

Final arrangements entrusted to Walker Funeral Home, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206."
