DEWAYNE COPELAND, AGE 74 of Washington Street, passed away Friday, May 13th, 2022, in a Rome hospital. He was born in Sand Rock, Alabama on September 26, 1947, son of the late Martin Copeland and Melissa Mitchell Copeland. Mr. Copeland was a member of the Summerville First Baptist Church and retired Electrician from Georgia Power.

Surviving are his wife, Jeanne Lenderman Copeland; daughters, Holly (Joe) Money, Angela (Matt) Veitch, Melissa (Kevin) Queen. Amanda Peters; sons, Lane Copeland, Ryan Copeland; sister, Betty Ann Lively; Grandchildren, Caleb Veitch, Gracelyn Veitch, Alexandra Peters, Thomas Peters, Alex Queen, Landon Henson, Jackson Copeland, Dayton Copeland; one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 16, 2022, at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home from 1 until 2 p.m. There will be a Private Family Graveside Service to follow visitation. Dr. Sean Wegener will officiate, interment in the Sand Rock Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Matt Veitch, Kevin Queen, Joseph Jackson, Roger McConkey, Benny Lenderman, and Zack Tucker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Monk Groover, Jim Bagley and the Members of the North Georgia Cruisers. The family respectfully requests no flowers nor food and that contributions in Dewayne's memory may be made to Gideons International or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
