Died on the morning of the 13th inst. after a lingering illness which he bore with great composure Robert McClure Esq. in the 57th year of his age.
Mr. McClure settled in this place as a member of the bar in 1795 & at the period of his decease was one of the only survivors of those inhabitants. As a lawyer his practice was marked by strict integrity of purpose.
Called by the voice of his fellow citizens to represent them in the State Legislature he occupied a seat in the lower House for several sessions. He was faithful in his charge of his public duties, as a husband he was affectionate & sincere. As a father kind & indulgent.
