On Tuesday, May 10, 2022, Jean Edward Johnson, age 94, of Madison, was reunited with the love of his life Peg, who found him at Agrace HospiceCare, where Jean was waiting for her hand. We believe Peg said, "It's about time, what have you been waiting for?" Jean was born on Dec. 23, 1927, in Janesville, WI, son of Edward and Zelpha (Reed) Johnson. He grew up in Evansville, WI, meeting his sweetheart, Peg in kindergarten. Both were proud Evansville Blue Devils. Jean married Peg on Aug. 4, 1949. The two started their family while briefly living in Texas as Jean served in the U.S. Army.

Jean graduated from the UW-Madison in 1953 and began his lifelong career as a pharmacist, serving customers for over 50 years! He truly enjoyed his profession and the people he met along the way.

In 1954, Jean and Peg purchased their first home on the east side of Madison where they lived for 67 years. Jean enjoyed hunting in his earlier years and golfed into his 90s. He also enjoyed a cold beer.

Jean is survived by his children, James Johnson, Rick (Julie) Johnson and Toni Johnson; grandchildren, Glenda Johnson, Lee Johnson, Jeff (Amber) Johnson and Shannon (Matt) Meeusen; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Hannah, Austin, Vienna and London; sister, Virginia Morelock; as well as the "Illinois" Johnson families and his friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Peg; son, David Michael; parents, Edward and Zelpha; brothers, Wally and Jim and daughter-in-law, Mary Johnson.
