MADISON - Peggy M. Johnson, age 87, of Madison, passed away at home on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015. She was born in Madison, the daughter of Glenn and Loretta Morrison on Oct. 4, 1927.
Peg grew up in Evansville, Wis., unknowingly meeting her future sweetheart, Jean, in kindergarten. As years passed their love grew, both proud Evansville Blue Devils, marrying on Aug. 4, 1949. The two began a family living briefly in Texas, a Quonset hut at Camp Randall, a flat on Johnson Street and East Washington Avenue and then moving into their home of 64 years on the east side of Madison.
Peg is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jean Johnson; children, James Johnson, Rick (Julie) Johnson and Toni Johnson, all of Madison; four grandchildren, Glenda (Hans March) Johnson, Ricky (Ashley) Johnson, Jeff (Amber) Johnson and Shannon (Matt) Meeusen; five great-grandchildren, Skylar, Hannah, Austin, Vienna and London; as well as the "Illinois" Johnson family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael David; parents, Glenn and Loretta Morrison; and daughter-in-law, Mary Johnson.
