Oneille Niemeyer of Sanger, California
December 29, 1919 - May 9, 2022

Oneille Hedrick Niemeyer was born December 29, 1919, in Versailles, Missouri. She left her home in Sanger, California, arriving in the presence of Jesus her Savior, on May 9, 2022. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, playing games, serving in her church, and spending time with her family.

After her high school graduation, Oneille joined her sister and brother-in-law and moved to the small farming community of Sanger, California. They became part of the Pentecostal Church where Oneille committed her life to Christ. It was also here she met her future husband, C. Gee Niemeyer.

Gee and Oneille married on September 27, 1938. Over the years they were blessed with three children: David, Sue, and Patrick. The family enjoyed camping in the mountains and attending Friday night football games at Sanger High School. They were also active in the First Pentecostal Church of Sanger, where Oneille participated in the Big Sisters Women's Group, taught a children's Sunday School class, and served as a greeter.

As a young woman, Oneille worked in the fields picking grapes and in the packing houses in Sanger. When she was in her late 30s, Oneille took classes at Fresno City College and became a licensed vocational nurse. She was employed by the Sanger Hospital, and in 1966 she began working for Dr. Roger Franz in his practice in Sanger. Oneille retired in 1980, and she and C. Gee began traveling, visiting all 50 states except Alaska.

Oneille was a committed Christian and a prayer warrior with a strong faith in God. Her life was a living testimony of God's mercy, grace, and faithfulness.

Oneille is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Charles Gee Niemeyer; her parents James David and Rosa Mae Hedrick; sisters Ann Skaggs, Cora Gee, and Hazel Morrow; brothers August, Charles, Clifford, and Henry Hedrick; and her son David Niemeyer.

She is survived by daughter-in-law Betty Niemeyer, daughter Sue Ahoff and husband Ken of Sanger, and son Patrick Niemeyer and wife Cindy of Sanger, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many nieces nephews, and friends.
