Mr. Larry Dean Parker, 75, of Mount Airy, passed away early Monday morning, May 9, 2022, at his home.

Mr. Parker was born January 27, 1947, in Carroll County, VA, one of three children born to the late Rufus and Ruby Horton Parker.

Larry served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Tommy and Nellie Horton.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 53 years, Glenda Moss Parker of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Terra Parker of Ararat; a daughter and son-in-law, Kristie and Jefferson Hebler of Warrenton, VA; five grandchildren, Wesley Hebler, Joshua Parker, Jonathan Parker, Joanna Parker, and Alexander "A.J." Hebler; a sister and brother-in-law, Dianne and Steve Thomas of Mount Airy; a brother, James Parker, Sr. of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Sam Prince and the Rev. Wayne Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Airy Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1053, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
