Fred Cowan Reynolds, age 95, passed away May 5, 2022, in Briarcliff Nursing Home in Greenville, Texas. He was born July 25, 1926 in Campbell, Texas to Mattie Lou Cowan Reynolds and Perry Yancy Reynolds. He graduated from Campbell High School in 1944.

Fred was drafted to the Army in March 1945. He left on a train from Greenville to San Antonio. He went to Japan after basics and was in Camp Maxie. He had an "Honorable Discharge" after he completed his service. He accepted Christ as his Savior while riding home on the bus with the Army Chaplain from Fort Worth.

On October 15, 1949, he married Frances Laneta Linton. Both were long time members of the Celeste First Baptist Church. Fred worked for 38 years as a Tech 5 for the Texas Highway Department in Greenville, Texas before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Reynolds; parents, Perry and Mattie Reynolds; and two sisters, June Reynolds Hudson and Mary Jo Hovland. He had no brothers.

Fred is survived by nephews, Kenny and Scarlet Hoveland, Dale and Rebecca Hovland, Paul Babb, Jimmy Babb, and niece, Ruth Babb Tyler.

A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Celeste, 203 W Cockrell St, Celeste, TX 75423 on May 7, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. Family will welcome guests at a visitation one hour prior. After the service, there will be a procession to Hogeye Cemetery in Celeste.

Pallbearers for Fred's service are Robert Collingsworth, Kenny Hovland, Dale Hovland, Jimmy Babb, Larry Rowell, and Kevin Warren.
