Mary's tombstone has not been identified. Her 1933 death certificate states she was buried in the Baker-Hamblin Cemetery. Her husband Robert, her father James Baker, and two of her siblings are buried here as well.

Mary was the 4th of 6 children of her parents James Baker (1816-1865) and his wife Louisa (Slight) Baker (1820-1889). Mary and her older sister Hester married two Hamblin brothers. Her father-in-law, Don Alonzo Hamblin, was the first Sheriff of Hancock County, Ohio. Mary married Robert E. Hamblin on April 14, 1869 in Hancock County, Ohio. The marriage produced two sons - Wilbur Grafton Hamblin (1870-1922) who became a distinguished physician in Chicago, Illinois and whom she and her husband outlived and son Frank G. Hamblin (1873-1942) who remained a bachelor.
