Barbara Lavonne Fields, 77, of Lafayette, IN, passed away on March 14, 2022 at her home.

She was born on October 22, 1944 in Washington D.C. to Arline Lavonne (Ewers) Conrad and James Vernon Conrad. Barbara retired from Alcoa in 2006 where she worked as a machinist for 30 years. She was known for her strength, resilience and strong will. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You could often find her outside where she enjoyed gardening, caring for her many farm animals, or simply enjoying the sun or storm watching. Barb also had a kind heart, who enjoyed helping to rehabilitate wildlife and donating clothes and toys to the Macy's Christmas tree each year. She frequently spent time auctioning with her best friend, Carol Stock. Barbara was an incredible woman who was loved by many and will be missed deeply.

Barbara is survived by two sons; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edward V. Conrad and Thomas Conrad; one sister, Sherry Taylor; one nephew, Mike Taylor; and one niece, Theresa Taylor..

A small committal ceremony celebrating Barbara's life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Main Chapel mausoleum at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette, IN.
