Sharon Kay (Sailors) Smith of Lincoln, passed away on May 2, 2022. She was born July 13, 1937 in Rosalie, NE to Guy & Ila Maude "Peggy" Sailors. She graduated from Rosalie High School in 1955 and attended Wayne State Teachers' College earning her teaching certificate in 1957. She taught school in Coleridge, NE one year. She met Paul Dee Smith in 1954 on a blind date and married in 1958.

In 1981 after many moves, many houses and 4 children later they settled in Lincoln. Until her retirement in 2003 she ran a day care out of her home keeping several of her grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan and traveled often to her kids' and grandkids sporting events. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church and altar society, Pink Sisters Auxiliary, and Catholic Daughters of America for many years.

She is survived by her children Jody (Dwayne)Cotton, Cheryl (Mark)Bell, Kevin Smith (Kim Young), Lisa (Steve)Andersen. Grandchildren Stephen Hooi, Adam (Morgan)Hooi, D.J. Cotton, Megan (Ishma)Valenti, Mariah (Jon)Becker, Zachary (Lauren)Bell, Madison Smith, Dalton Smith, Kennedy Smith, Braxton Smith, Dylan (Mandy)Andersen, Ethan Andersen, Payton Andersen. Great-grandchildren Ishma, Najah, & NaLana Valenti, Noah Labadie, & Henry Bell. Sisters Carol (Dwain)Ostrand, Elaine (Joe)Mallette, sister-in-law Irene Smith and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul D. Smith, and brother-in-law James T. Smith. Visitation will be Thursday, May 5, 2022 12pm to 8pm, Family will be present from 6-8pm Thursday at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home-Lincoln. Rosary will be 9:30am and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am both at St. Teresa Catholic Church, 735 South 36th Street on Friday, May 6, 2022.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
