Sergeant Major Guy W. Sparks (retired), 70, died Jan 5, 2005, at his home in Wake Village, TX. Services and burial with full military rites were held in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens in Texarkana, TX on January 8.

Guy was born June 24, 1934, at Winnebago NE. He graduated Decatur High School in Decatur, NE in 1952 and had lived in the Texarkana area for the past 24 years. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

After 30 years of service in the U.S. Army, Sparks retired as Sergeant Major. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was also retired from Red River Army Depot in Texarkana. A sister, Deborah Sparks, and brother, Toby Sparks, preceded him in death.
