Shirley June "Jackie" (Ellington) Owen, born June 15, 1951, ran into the arms of Jesus on August 1, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father, Guy "Junior" Ellington and mother, Jessie Mae (Henson) Ellington; son, Bradley Allen Coatney and brothers Marty and David Ellington.
Mom had many gifts and talents that she loved sharing with the world: An unwavering love for the Lord and was a walking testimony to His love, mercy and grace. She had enormous faith and used every opportunity to spread the good news and share GOD's word. Mom had a prayer list at least a mile long and YOU were probably on it. She was real and true and good. Faith filled, loving, compassionate and forgiving. She had a boundless love for family and friends. We don't think she ever met a stranger. Well, if she did, they weren't s stranger for long. Mom had a heart as big as Texas. Always thinking about, praying for and helping others. She was clever, quick witted and sported one seriously awesome sense of humor.
Mom brought a smile and joy wherever she went. She was a warrior. A survivor. THE strongest person we've ever known. She was a light and treasure in this world. She will be missed.
She is survived by three daughters, Tammy (Chris) Cohn of Georgia, Billie (Sean) Mooney of Oklahoma and Jacquie Pointer of Arkansas; by her eleven grandchildren, Trevor, Haley, Jack, Joe, Dylan, Owen, Presley, Ella, Evan, Marley and Quincy; her sisters, Linda Ellington and Bonnie Harvey and her brothers, Jerry and John Ellington. Also many wonderful nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral and Memorial services will be Saturday, August 14, at 1:00 at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
