Charles H. Rogers, ex-Tacoman who spent many years in Alaska, died in Circle Hot Springs, Alaska, Aug 26. Mr. Rogers was born in Indiana July 30, 1897, and went to Alaska when only 29 as a newspaper reporter covering news of the famous Klondike gold rush, and later became interested in mining. He came to Tacoma at the time of the First World War and lived here for about 10 years, returning to Alaska on business at that time and spending much of his time since then in the north. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kathryn Rogers, a daughter, Mrs. Mary-Louise Gee, and a son, George Edward, all at the family home, 2909 No. 14th St., Tacoma; three brothers and a sister in the east.

Rogers, Charles H, obituary, The Tacoma Sunday Ledger-News Tribune, published 29 Aug 1948, A7, col 4

Some documents show birthplace as: Pellsville, Illinois, United States.
You won't find the Pellsville Pioneer Cemetery in Pellsville. You won't find Pellsville there either. There is no Pellsville. It was planned in the 1800s for Vermilion County, in east central Illinois, and never incorporated. So Pellsville cemetery sits in Butler Township (pop. 947), 40 miles northeast of Champaign. It's off the beaten path, as in you must travel unpaved farmland to reach it.
