Ray and Bonnie opened up a lumberyard, Citizen's Building Supply, and owned it for 36 years in Buhl, Idaho, before it burned down by an arson caused fire. Ray rebuilt it from ashes and started once again. In 1970, they moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, where they lived for the next 48 years, although Buhl was still called "home".
