Dawn Yvonne Duzick
Mrs. Dawn Yvonne Duzick, age 73, of Laurel, DE, formerly of Newark, DE, died on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at her nephew's home.
Born in Shamokin, PA on August 21, 1934, Mrs. Duzick was a daughter of the late Stephen Weaver and Eva Shoop Weaver. She worked as a manager and buyer for the Sears Department Store for several years and was later employed as a nutritional aide at the University of Delaware for 10 years until her retirement in 1988. Mrs. Duzick was a longtime member of Kingswood United Methodist Church in Newark. A talented singer, she toured with the Sweet Adelines in earlier years. She also enjoyed painting, ceramics, and trips to Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, PA.
Her husband, Robert Peter Duzick, died in 2002. She was also preceded in death by 2 nieces, Barbara Lea and Mary Ann Fields.
She is survived by her sister, Evelyn (Yost) Ford of Pennsville, NJ; many nieces and nephews, including Terry D. Weaver, Sr. and his wife, Karen, and their children of Laurel, DE; and Judy Tidaback of Watertown, NY; and dear friends, Fred and Linda Rogers and Elsie Herbein.
A committal service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, January 14, 2008, in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kingswood United Methodist Church, 300 Marrows Road, Newark, DE 19711.
