Joseph William Paul, Jr. (Bill), 81, of Sewickley, PA passed away on April 26, 2022. Bill was born August 7, 1940, in New Kensington, PA, the only child of Joseph W. Paul, Sr., and Zelma James Paul. He graduated from Ambridge High School in 1958 and California University of PA in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts. While at CUP, he was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and social committee chairman. Bill earned a master's equivalency from West Virginia University. Teaching metal shop and mechanical drawing at Baden-Economy Junior High School, 1962-1967 was the start of his working career. He joined Michael Baker Engineering firm in 1967 until 1970 when he joined Deckman Company, a manufacturers' representative firm. He was a contributing partner with Deckman Company for 52 years. Among the many activities that Bill enjoyed are swimming, water skiing, boating, duckpin bowling, tennis, paddle tennis, golf, skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing. As Bill liked to say- he was a jack of all trades, a master of none. He enjoyed driving his 1957 white Lincoln Premier convertible, 1947 red Ford convertible, and his 2009 black Corvette. He loved traveling with his family to Hilton Head Island and skiing in Colorado and Snowshoe, West Virginia. His most recent passion was spending time at the log home in Vowinckel, PA where he enjoyed hunting, riding snowmobiles and ATVs, planting trees and food plots, and just hanging out with family and friends. He especially enjoyed the guys' weekend at the cabin, RV trips to bourbon country, and making sausage. A resident of Sewickley for 44 years, Bill was a member of the Edgeworth Club, where he had served on the Board of Directors, and Allegheny Country Club where he was an active member of the Master Planning Committee. He hosted the annual Gourmet-Bocce-Tennis Party for 15 years for his many friends along with many toboggan parties. Traveling the world with friends was an important part of his life. Bi-annual treks to Canada to see plays, visit with Canadian friends, and frequent wineries at Niagara-on-the-Lake and Stratford, Ontario were part of his cultural side. Snowmobiling in Upper Peninsula, Michigan in February, with sons and grandsons became an annual event. Bill was Mr. Home Improvement and Mr. Fix It. He could fix just about anything except our broken hearts. Surviving is his wife of nearly 59 years, Dolly, sons Joseph W. III (Joe) (Dania), and Gregory G. (Beth). He was Papa Bear to his very special and exceptional grandchildren Hilary, Joseph W. IV (Willie), Jackson, and Maggie. Bill is also survived by sister-in-law Becky Watts (Steve), nephew Matthew (Lizz), niece Shelley, grand-niece Hannah, and brother-in-law, George Haddad. He is also survived by several cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to the following: Allegheny Country Club Employee and Caddy Scholarship Fund, 250 Country Club Road, Sewickley, PA 15143, or American Subcontractors Associations (ASA) of Western Pennsylvania, c/o Scholarship Fund, 565 Callery Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.
