Bertha migrated to the USA with her brother Fred Zobel. They came from Poznañ, Poland under the rule of Prussia. They arrived at the Port of Galveston Texas on or about April 28, 1883. She married George Klehm in 1884 and had seven children. My mother Minnie Klehm was 14 years old when her mother Bertha died. Minnie was the youngest female and was raised mostly by her older sisters and father. They were farmers and all had to help with the farming . On the 1910 census my mother and her father were living with her oldest sister Clara Mathis and family helping with the farming. I am sorry my Grandmother never lived long enough for me to know her.
